Top-10 lists are the internet's native format. Chartimator's ranking scene sorts your entities, then grows each bar in with a stagger and a counting label — biggest first, so the reveal builds anticipation.

Use it for market share, box office, most-streamed songs, richest people, fastest cars — any single-period comparison. For rankings that change over time, chain it with a bar chart race scene.

What makes it work

Staggered grow-in

Bars appear in rank order with a per-bar delay, giving each entry its beat.

3 to 12 entries

Choose how many ranks to show; labels and spacing adapt automatically.

Counting values

Each bar's value counts up as it grows, in compact notation.

Fixed entity colors

Colors follow the entity, not the rank — re-sorting never repaints your series.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a ranking video and a bar chart race?

A ranking shows one moment in time (bars grow in, sorted); a race shows rankings changing across many periods. Chartimator does both — they're separate scene types you can chain.

Can I add images or logos to the bars?

Not yet — bars carry text labels and values today. Logo support is on the roadmap.

How many items can I rank?

Up to 12 bars per scene. Beyond that, readability drops fast at phone size — split into two scenes instead.

Can viewers read it without sound?

Yes — every bar is directly labeled with its name and value, so the video works muted, which is how most social video is watched.
